Nostalgia

I woke up early in the morning. “The sky is crying”, I sighed. It’s raining so hard these past few days and it’s February! You won’t understand the connection but you see, the rain and the Love Month both mean something to me.

Have you ever felt a deep longing for something that happened in the past? Have you felt being reminded of a person because of things happening now? I’ve been experiencing that for the past few days—a bittersweet feeling which makes you smile and frown at the same time.

I am being reminded of a special person that I had in the past. I don’t exactly miss him. I am not longing for him either. It’s just that some things bring back old memories. That’s not a very bad thing (not for me). This is not plain bitterness if that’s what you’re thinking. Jeez. Maybe I’m just being melodramatic at the moment. Anyway, things are so different now than it was back then.

Things are meant to change through time. Whether the change is good or bad, we have to face it. Acceptance is such an important thing in this world. It helps us to let go of things when time requires it.  Also, it helps us to move on and get on with our lives. It helps us forget about the heartaches and other painful experiences we went through.

We learn to forgive through time. However, we seldom forget. Memories stay with us for a reason. They remind us of things that we need to learn or mistakes we need to change or actions we should avoid in the future. It helps us become a better person.

Once in a while, we remember things that happen in the past. Often times, we just forget that they were happy moments. We just get sad because we can’t bring them back and things will never be the same again. However, we need step out of the shadows and go find our happiness.

Never regret the things that happened in the past. You should never forget that once in your life, that memory has made you smile. Smile with me, will you? :)

Prayer and Tears

You think of saying there’s no use in praying, still, she bows her head to say,  “Thank you for just one more day”.

Have you ever felt that your life is a mess? I guess we all do. There will always be a time when you feel like everything is wrong and you can’t fix anything no matter what you do. It’s like no matter how hard you try, life just find its way to make things worse for you.

A lot of problems may come to us. Not all the time, we know how to face them. Often than not, we find ourselves losing faith and hope. We forget how to cling onto the things that strengthens our souls. We feel lost and confused. We feel like giving up because we think that we already lost the game even if we haven’t started it yet.

Staying positive might be a difficult thing to do when you are in the brink of shattering like broken glass. However, by all means, we still have to find a way to face our problems and fight for what we believe in. No matter how many bad things you encounter in your life, they won’t even reach a quarter of the blessings given to you. You are never alone. There will always be someone who wants to make you happy. You just forget to pay attention sometimes. You sometimes build walls to protect yourself from being hurt but then, you also tend to stop other people from entering your life even if they do everything just to see you smile.

There are billions of people around the world. A lot of them suffer worse problems than what you have now. Just remember that there are always good things in every bad thing that comes your way. Remember, life is beautiful if you only know where to find its beauty.

Hmmmm… Here is a very inspiring song from one of my favorite bands—Supernatural by Flyleaf. I like this version compared to the original one. May all the happy thoughts fall upon you. Enjoy!

Moonstar 88: Migraine Attack!

OPM rocks!

I seldom feature OPM songs here in my blog. It’s not that I don’t want any of them but it’s just that, I don’t like them as much as I like them way back in high school. Anyway, there are still a lot of great songs from our own local bands, I know. Parokya ni Edgar and Spongecola are just two of my favorite Pinoy bands. I admire the way they write their songs. All Filipino music lovers must have known all their songs.

Anyway, why have I thought of featuring an OPM today? It’s because I am having a migraine attack again. It may be weird but everytime I suffer from this painful headache, I am always reminded by an OPM song written by Moonstar 88, one of my favorite bands up to date. The song is called “Migraine” (Yes, migraine, it is.)

The song became popular when we were in college. That was also the time when I found out that Moonstar 88 has a new vocalist. I love Acel Bisa’s (former vocalist) sweet voice but  Maychelle Bay (current vocalist) had me hooked too. Ok, back to the song. Migraine became one of my favorite songs since then. It’s not really because of my headaches but because of the melody and the song itself. If you listen to it, you might as well listen to one of my stories.

“Oo nga pala, hindi nga pala tayo. Hanggang dito na lang ako. Nangangarap na mapasayo.” I have been to some situations where these lines are simply perfect. Maybe that’s the reason why I grew fond of the song. It speaks a lot about what I feel. Also, there are also a lot of people then (and now, maybe) who can still relate to this song.

Have you been in a situation where you find someone who treats you really special but then, something (or someone) comes along and make you realize that you are not that special? It happens when two people treat each other like they are in a relationship but they have no commitment. Well, then, if you can relate to that, just turn your speakers on or get a headphone and listen to this song.

Remembering the Music of the 90’s and Welcoming the Music of 2012

I have to admit that I can never compare the music of the 90’s from other generation.  The most popular genre back then was Pop Music (probably). The reason why I liked the music of the 90’s so much is that whenever I turn the radio on, the songs are always easy to listen to. You can listen to the radio all day and you can stick to one station. You don’t have to scan other stations because almost all the songs are great.

Remember Michelle Branch, Vanessa Carlton, Avril Lavigne, and Alanis Morissette? They are some of my favorite artists and they still rock my world today. I also fell in love with a couple of bands:

•    The Cranberries
•    Simple Plan
•    Dishwalla
•    Vertical Horizon
•    Foo Fighters
•    Incubus
•    Duncan Sheik
•    Silverchair
•    Goo Goo Dolls
•    Creed

These are only some of the best bands in my own opinion. Some of them are still popular today and are still making a big name in the music industry. I still listen to their songs and I doubt that I will forget their names ever.

I am not saying that the music of the next generation is not good. The 21st century has brought a lot of changes and it also made way for new genres to be recognized. I began liking alternative genres and punk music. Last year, I started appreciating metal, hardcore and post hardcore bands. However, I still hold on to my favorite songs from the 90’s from time to time.

Now, we welcome a new age, a new start for new artists and bands. I am thrilled to listen to new songs from different albums. May this year bring us great music and more songs to fill our playlists with.

Come On Y’all, It’s Christmas Time!

Wake up the happiness. Shake up the happiness!

Now, now… I know I've been away for some time. I’ve been busy and I owe you an apology. Sorry. Anyway, I’m back! I won’t wait for another week to write a new blog post. Also, I really want to write this one because I have a new favorite Christmas song!

What are your favorite things during this season? If you’ll ask me, I have a lot of favorites. The songs? The gifts? The lights? The FOOD? (Yes, I capitalized the word on purpose. Haha) Nah, my favorite thing is spending Christmas with my family and friends. You won’t ask for anything more if you have the best people in your life, will you?

I don’t know if you notice it but things (and people too) look different during this season. I don’t think silent nights and jingle bells have something to do with it. I guess, the atmosphere is so light that’s why people feel so happy and contented. His presence might be the main reason (I strongly believe so)  why this is the season to be jolly.

If you look around you, no matter how messed up the world may seem, there are still a lot of things to be grateful about. You may not have a perfect life but there are other aspects that are more than perfect. You should be thankful! Just look at the bright side and you will be happy and contented.

To inspire you more, here’s a video of Train’s Shake Up Christmas Music Video. I first heard the melody in a Coca Cola advertisement. Then, I just learned that it was an original song of Train. Watch the video. It’ll put a smile in your face and will let you feel what real Christmas is about. Merry Christmas!

I'll Love You for A Thousand Years

“I have loved you for a thousand years. I’ll love you for a thousand more…”

Now, now, can you believe these lines? How superficial is that? Ok, don’t get me wrong. I’m not taking this literally. I mean, this is just like saying something like “I love you forever” which can be the most romantic and heartbreaking line you can hear from your loved one. Forever is a very long time. It’s beautiful, yes it is. However, usually, that beautiful promise is broken and forgotten before we can even say F-O-R-E-V-E-R.

I once believed in love. Maybe, I still do. (Ok, I still do). I don’t know how I can even say this but love is indeed a very powerful thing. It’s like magic. It can be the most beautiful thing in the world. Well, if you and that someone know how to fight for that love.

Some of you may have been heartbroken in the past or maybe now. You have experienced a lot of pain and sorrow which made you a BITTER person. That’s not so bad. We really go through all these stuffs sometimes. The most important thing that you should know is that there are things and situations that we should accept. We should learn from our experiences, from our mistakes. We cry. We get angry. We even curse those people we once loved. Still, we can not deny the fact that we love them. We loved them.

True love, eternal love, whatever. When I got my heart broken, I thought, happy endings are just found in the movies or in TV series dramas, etc. They aren’t for real. Later, I realized, maybe it isn’t. Maybe it’ll work for me too.  Not now, but maybe someday. To convince you more, here’s a perfect song: A thousand Years by Christina Perri (Breaking Dawn movie soundtrack). When I heard the song, it brought me to Cloud 9. Yes, that’s the feeling. Well, after listening to Christina, I was convinced that love is still possible.  Can you believe it too?

Absolutely Not Just Another Band! We Are the In Crowd

“If this is what you think is honest, honestly, I think I’m gonna freak out!” You ought to know this line. It’s from a band (one of my favorite bands now) called: We Are the In Crowd.
One day, I ran out of songs to play: meaning, I wanted something new. So, I went to Youtube and looked for a new artist/ band. I was starting to get bored when suddenly, a link caught my attention. The title was: We Are the In Crowd – Never Be What You Want (Acoustic).  I hit the play button. Viola! I found another great band!

Taylor Jardine: Vocals
Jordan Eckes: Guitar/ Vocals
Mike Ferri: Guitar (bass)
Rob Chianelli: Drums
Cameron Hurley: Guitar

A male and a female artist with great vocals are just fantastic! Tay’s vocals are incredible as well as Jordan’s. Mike, Rob and Cameron know how to handle their instruments. I can listen to their songs for hours!

I am currently waiting for the release of their new album. I already checked out the other songs from their album Guaranteed to Disagree:  Both sides of the Story, Lights Out, We Need a Break and For the Win. I’m looking forward to see their new music video! I’m such an addict. But hey, you should check them out too. You won’t regret it!

Oh, another thing. I just can’t help but say something about the issue that Taylor Jardine sounds like Hayley Williams. Why do people keep on comparing bands to Paramore and other famous bands out there? Why don’t you give this great band a chance? Like what real fans say, “Shut up and just enjoy the music!”

Appreciating Music 101

Hello there! Right now, I shall take a break in featuring different bands because I am aching to write about this issue. What issue? “Everybody hates Justin Bieber” or “Lady Gaga is weird!” or “No band is better than Paramore!”  I mean, come on guys, you know that you are better than that!

If you are an artist or part of a band, you have to live with the popular motto: “Let the haters hate!”, because if you are a true musician, you won’t care about what others would say about you. The only thing that matters is that you create your own music and you know how to express yourself. Come to think of it. Artists and bands have to endure all the “boos” from other people and they all have to try hard just to make their names known all over the world.

Aren’t you glad that you are just a mere listener or a fan? You don’t have to go through all the struggles that these stars go through. All you have to do is to download their songs or watch their performances. But, mind you, have you ever wondered how big your role is in the music industry? You hold the key to an artist's or a band’s success or downfall.

No matter what artists do, they can’t make us want to listen to their songs if we don’t want to. However, we don’t have to be mean everytime we come across an artist or a band that we dislike.

Bands and Artists: Why Compare?

Everyone has their own opinion about one band or another. It is true that we have all the freedom to say things that we want to say about a certain band but sometimes, we tend to go overboard.

A new band is formed every now and then. If you want to appreciate a new band or artist, you have to learn how listen to them. You should avoid comparing them to those bands that are already popular. It’s not fair. They have their own talent and they also have their own way of creating and sharing their music to people. Stop saying, “The lead singer sounds like Hayley Williams.” or “Eyes Set to Kill is better!” Come on! Hayley is already popular and so is ESTK. Why can’t we give some new bands the chance to build their own names? Maybe they look up to the same bands that we look up to but that does not mean that they want to live within the shadows of their favorite artists/ bands. They just want to be known to all of us with nothing but their names and their talent on their sleeves.

Genres: Why Criticize?

If you hate Metal or Hardcore Genres, someone out there loves them. If you want to listen to Acoustic Songs or Country Songs, someone out there hates them. All I want to say is that you don’t have to force yourself to start wanting the genres that you hate but you don’t need to go on criticizing each genre that you dislike. If you can’t stand to listen to a certain genre, then don’t. No one will force you to listen to them anyway.

Physical Appearance: Why Care?

Everybody wants that rocker chick vocalist or super hot front man of that extremely popular band. I just have one question though. What are you looking for, really: a band or a magazine model? I know, we always admire artists that are good looking. There is nothing wrong with that. However, you should not focus on how a band’s vocalist/ guitarist/ drummer looks like. Talent comes first, right? I wouldn’t want to listen to a band with an extremely good looking member if they can’t create great music, would you?

Rock On, Shadow Puppets

Hey there! It’s been so long since I last updated my blog. I have been too busy. I’m still busy but I don’t want to stop writing blogs. I wanted to write this topic for so long.

There are so many bands out there. We are all aware of that. We know all the famous bands but we seem to miss out those that we can see personally. I’m talking about the local bands; the indie bands—those bands that do not have the opportunity to sign life- long contracts with professionals who can help them make it on top of the music industry. I look up to these bands because they usually perform not mainly because they want to be famous but they simply play music to have fun and to share the happiness that they feel whenever they perform their music.

I like to feature one of the bands that I look up to. They are from the Bicol Region. I am more than proud to introduce them to you!

Shadow Puppets Band (Art Rock)

I first “met” the band during the Magayon Bandfest 2011. I watched the whole show. I was amazed on how the lead vocalist sounded. She’s great and she definitely struck the crowd with her powerful vocals. Also, the rest of the band members (the guitarists and the drummer) have definitely great musical skills and they know how to rock the crowd with their instruments. From there, I became a fan. I looked them up on Facebook and liked their page. I also searched their covers in Youtube. Call me an addict but you can’t blame me. If you hear them, you will see what I mean!

How Long Will You Live?

How old are you now? 15? 20? 30? You can easily answer that. But, “How long will you live?” You don’t know, right? No one knows, not even the life calculator or the death clock that you can access online.Yet we all strive to live every single day. We look forward for tomorrow, probably waiting for something great to happen to us.

Our days are already numbered the moment that we are born. Who knows? We’re here today, tomorrow, we may be not. Scary? I guess not. Maybe, a little. But, it’s reality isn’t it? It’s something that we can’t run from no matter what we do. But by all means, we should take each moment, grab each chance to make the most of our time while we’re still breathing.

Here are some songs that you might like to listen to—songs about life itself:

1. Lenka- Live Like Your Dying

2. Five For Fighting- 100 Years

3. Switchfoot- Dare You to Move

4. Splender- I Think God Can Explain

Aside from the inspiring lyrics, they have melodies that will touch your heart and soul. It won’t let you think of dying but it will remind you how to bring the best out of life and how to face each challenge that come to us. Cherish the time that is given to you and make the most out of it.

Songs about the Weather

I’m back! I missed writing! Maybe I feel so overwhelmed that I can’t wait to post something new today. I am glad that my family and I were safe from the typhoon. I hope you guys are too. It’s great that the storm was over yet I couldn’t get my thoughts off about last night’s news.  I didn’t expect that the storm had caused too much damage that it brought our province to a state of calamity. It was so heart- breaking to see the current situation of the place. Let’s just hope that people will recover from it fast. I know they will.

Anyway, I won’t tell more about the storm. It’s depressing. Let me talk about today’s weather. It’s a fine day. The sun is smiling at me and with a little more grin, maybe it’ll make me stay out for awhile.  Okay, I’m not here to convince you to go out and enjoy the weather. I’m just trying to talk about the weather. Oh, not exactly the weather. Let’s talk about songs about the weather. It may sound weird. But, bear with me. I’m just caught up with the storm and today’s fine weather at the same time. I just decided to write something about it.

Here’s a list of songs you might want to check out:

1. The Flood- Escape the Fate

2. Inside the Eye- Eyes Set To Kill

3. When it Rains- Paramore

4. Hurricane- 30 Seconds to Mars

5. Thunder- Boys Like Girls

6. Light Up the Sky- Yellowcard

7. The Storm- Lifehouse

I’m posting these songs for now. It’s quite few. I’m trying to find more songs to add to this list. Maybe you can help me with this. Feel free to leave your comments! :)

The Kooks

Something’s different today. Why? I am listening to slow pop/ rock music and not those usually loud and noisy songs that my ears are used to.  I guess, I just want to take a break. I've been so busy lately and listening to relaxing music shakes the stress away.

Last night, I was wondering what my next blog post would be. Then, someone gave me an idea. He told me to feature Indie Rock Music and told me to start on British Bands. Then, I was like, “Whoa! I don’t know any British Rock Band.” So, for the “challenge”, I researched about British Indie Rock Bands. Then, I found this band called “The Kooks”, an English indie rock band formed in Brighton, East Sussex, in 2004. I scanned their song list and decided to search their song called “SeaSide” and listened to it. The song was so beautiful, I felt like flying!

Do you want to go to the seaside?
I'm not trying to say that everybody wants to go
I fell in love at the seaside
I handled my charm with time and slight of hand

Do you want to go to the seaside?
I'm not trying to say that everybody wants to go
I fell in love at the seaside
She handled her charm with time and slight of hand, and oh
But I'm just trying to love you
In any kind of way
But I find it hard to love you girl
When you're far away
Away

Do you want to go to the seaside?
I'm not trying to say that everybody wants to go
But I fell in love on the seaside
On the seaside
In the seaside

Guess what? I found a new awesome band!  You should check out their other songs like “She Moves in Her Way”, “Naïve” and “One Last Time”. These songs sound great too and I promise, they will capture your ears from the very first strum of their music.

The Third Temptation of Paris

They say love is the greatest thing in the world. It can conquer everything! Let’s take the story of the Trojan War for example. What is the real cause of it? Is it really just because of Helen’s beauty or is it because of love?

Maybe Helen’s beauty is more compelling than a vampire’s. That’s why men fought over her. They waged war against each other just to “own” her. Myth told us that Helen was already married to Menelaus. But, when Paris asked her to go with him to Troy, she ran away with him. This gives us the thought that maybe, Helen fell inlove with Paris.

Now, guys, why am I telling you this? We aren’t here to study about Greek Mythology. It's not like that. I just want to remind you the story of the Trojan War because I would like to share a song that tells something about it.
Alesana

The Third Temptation of Paris is one of the greatest songs I heard from one of my favorite bands—Alesana. They write great songs and I think, they did a great job in writing this one. I know, Alesana is not the greatest band when it comes to all the screaming but I do love their songs when they do something like The Third Temptation of Paris. Their music is quite unique and I feel pulled into their songs. Maybe you are too!

Here is “The Third Temptation of Paris’” lyrics:

Paris knew that he will be causing great trouble to Troy, yet he still kept Helen with him. He never thought of letting Helen go. Isn’t it great when someone like Paris will love you and is willing to take all the consequences just to be with you?

Violent Kiss

“I can’t keep pacing. I need your blood tonight!” Yes, I’m a vampire. Haha. Nah. It’s just a line from a song of one of my favorite bands- Eyes Set To Kill.  I can play the song over and over again and won’t get tired of it. The lyrics of the song really rocks so I decided to write something about it.

red rose        Vampires, vampires, vampires. We just can’t get over them, can we? People wrote about them and told stories about them. Do you know Count Dracula? Ofcourse, you do! How about Edward Cullen? How about Stefan and Damon Salvatore? Yes! We get crazy about them. We even find ourselves wishing to be like them—Hunters of the Night.

Maybe it’s in the nature of humans to be “attracted” and pulled into the mysteries of the existence of the unknown. Their stories are the same yet we don’t get tired on wanting to know more about them. Now, let us go back to their story. As I was saying, everyone is into them. We have read novels about them. We have watched movies about them. Now, try something different. Listen to songs about them!

Violent Kiss is a song written by Alexia Rodriguez- the frontwoman of ESTK. I became addicted to it the first time I heard the song. If you will listen to it, it’s quite obvious that the song is about a vampire. Here is the Violent Kiss lyrics:

It is about a vampire indeed. With her charm and her alluring beauty; everyone will be tempted. Before you know it, life is already sucked out of your body. But, if we will give a deeper meaning to the song, it will be about love- one that will melt and take your hearts out.

If you were the vampire and someone fell inlove with you (without compelling him/ her), wouldn’t it be nice if that someone will be willing to change his/her entire life just to be with you forever?  Take that someone’s hand. Grip it tight and never let it go!

Hayley Williams Vs. Farro Brothers Vs. Paramore Fans

I am such a big fan of Paramore so my next post will be about them again. But, I will write something different today. I’m going to talk about the Paramore’s split up. I am just really sad about the issue and I can’t get over it. I always check on updates about the band. I am always eager and excited to find out what the band is up to. Sadly, one day, I came across the news about the Farro brothers’ exiting the band.  The news was released last December 2010, but it’s still a hot topic to date.

Taylor York, Hayley Williams and Jeremy Davis

According to Paramore.net, Hayley, Jeremy and Taylor said,   “A couple of months ago, Josh and Zac let us know they would be leaving the band after our show in Orlando last Sunday. None of us were really shocked. For the last year it hasn't seemed as if they wanted to be around anymore. We want Josh and Zac to do something that makes them happy and if that isn't here with us, then we support them finding happiness elsewhere.” I got teary- eyed upon reading this!   I just can’t believe it and I really want to know the real reason why Josh and Zac left the band. I was dismayed when I read the so called version of Josh’s statement about the issue.

Josh and Zac Farro
According to mtv.com : Farro took countless shots at the band, calling Paramore "a manufactured product of a major label," and accusing frontwoman Hayley Williams of not only being manipulated by her management, but also of treating the group as her solo project. He claims that Williams is the only member of the band signed to Atlantic Records, and that her bandmates were simply "riding on the coattails of 'Hayley's dream.”. This was really depressing! Hayley, however, said that Josh’s blog post was a fake. But there are posts saying and confirming that the blog post was authentic. Things are so confusing. I don’t know what and who to believe. Maybe I didn’t want to believe anything about it. I am a Paramore fan and when you say a fan, it means the band and all its members.

Some of the Paramore fans sided Hayley. Some were on Josh and Zac’s side. But, all I can say is, if you are really a fan of the band, you will support all their band members. It’s really nerve- wrecking when people makes the issue worse by spreading rumors about them. They are making things more out of hand. The issue can go down now. It has been a couple of months already. The band is in the process of moving on. Be it Hayley, Jeremy, Taylor, Josh or Zac, we should just wish them all well. As for me, I shall continue supporting them, together or not. I am still a Paramore fan!

Eyes Set To Kill

Eyes Set To Kill started in 2004 by sisters Alexia and Anissa Rodriguez, along with Lindsey Vogt. The three wanted to build a name by forming a band. They adopted the name Eyes Set To Kill from a line in Alexia’s poem which she wrote in High School. At first, people had failed to recognize them despite their obviously great talent. So, the three sought for talented musicians in Arizona. They wanted to form a band which plays different music- combining the soft female vocals with screaming male vocals which is in line with the post- hardcore genre. Finally, they found the guys in 2005. The band started to build their name. They shared the stage with several signed and unsigned artists. However, the initial combination lasted only for some time.

Establishing the band was not that easy for ESTK. The band had undergone changes in their musical line up and they continued losing some of their band members. Due to personal issues, Lidsey Vogt left the band too. They have lost half of their members. It was a tough time for ESTK. Alexia took over Lindsey’s position and became the band’s lead vocalist.

In 2006, three gentlemen were found the band. Alex Torres, Brandon Anderson and Brett Litzer joined the girls and established the band. With the band’s unique sound, they were finally recognized. The ESTK fever had violently hit the audience which helped them be lined with the best bands in the music industry’s historical billboard charts.

Paramore

In 2000, 13- year- old Hayley Williams moved from her hometown Mississippi to Franklin, Tennessee and went to a private school.  At her young age, Hayley was already serious with her music. She was taking vocal lessons during her free time.  She met brothers Josh and Zac Farro . The two brothers were then playing in a different band while Hayley and Jeremy were part of a funk band called “The Factory”. They finally decided to form their own band. As to Hayley’s, she has proven her own right to be a vocalist of the band because of her songwriting skills and her undoubtedly great voice despite her age.

The band name “Paramore” was taken from the maiden name of one of their former band member. They liked the sound of it. They learned that it is related to the word “paramour” which means “secret lover”. The band then, decided to use the name with the spelling “P-A-R-A-M-O-R-E”.

The band began playing their punk pop music in Nashville. The musical energy of the band members and Hayley’s charisma gained instant attention. Shortly, they received their break when John Janick, founder of Fuled By Ramen spotted them while they were in a gig in Florida.  Their debut album All We Know is Falling was released in  2005. It was followed by their album Riot! in 2007. Their latest album Brand New Eyes was released in 2009 which is still rocking the music industry to date.

My Favorite Bands (Female Vocalists)

“Pia! Turn the music off! It’s too loud and too noisy” my mother told me, one day. I just laughed and decided to use the headphones so I can continue listening to my music. I listen to bands in pop rock and alternative genres. I can’t help it. I always want to play it loud and I want to sing along with the songs but I can’t since “they” can’t bear to listen to my type of music. I learned to appreciate these kinds of music since 2006. Another “problem” popped out when I learned to appreciate bands with screamos. I simply love listening to the screams. I can remember my brother saying, “Click next. The song is too noisy.” I said, “Jeez, Kuya! I want to listen to ESTK! Go to the living room and find peace! Haha”

Thank God, I have my earphones! I can listen to them all day.I actually have 224 songs in my cellphone’s playlist. Most of the songs are from my favorite bands. Here is a list of the bands with female vocalists that are currently on my playlist:
